    Julie Le Gal
    Writer / director
    Julie Le Gal is a trilingual performer, creator and director, budding filmmaker. She was a child actor in Toronto, studied theatre at l’Université d’Ottawa, and, in New York, learned the Michael Chekhov technique and Rudolf Steiner’s speech formation in a first time combination.
    She spent many years creating pieces and performing and creating with the Actors’ Ensemble NY in many unsual places. In Germany, Berlin, she participated in more creations that toured in Germany, even to Hungary. In Australia, she worked with Dawn Langman, teaching and deepening speech formation work. In Canada, she has performed in theatres in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Ottawa in French and English. She has also been seen on screen in feature films, shorts, and various television appearances.
    She co-adapted Tolstoy’s Confession, for the stage and directed the piece which has been touring to various locations around Ottawa and Hudson, NY.
    She will soon be releasing her first documentary film, Die Faehre, shot in Berlin, in German, about a young woman dying of cancer, wishing to go on a last journey.
    Her plunge in to parenthood has also sprung open a new passion of advocating for supporting and protecting childhood, which gave rise to the online Conscious Parenting Guide. She currently lives in Wakefield, Québec with her family.
